What can be sponsored
Things people use to play or to make things, such as gear, audio, storage and learning tools. An indie studio can sponsor a segment about design, as long as it does not recommend the game.
What is never for sale here
- Online gambling of any kind, including slot sites, skin and case-opening sites
- Online loan apps, paylater schemes and investment apps
- Crypto, NFT and play-to-earn
- Top-up, account selling and boosting services
- Brands tied to genocide or other crimes against humanity, including the occupation of Palestine, checked to the parent company
- Political parties and government campaigns
- Paid recommendations or rankings of games, in a video, a post or a story
How a sponsor shows up
Anything sponsored says so on screen and in the caption or description, whichever platform it is on. A sponsor never takes over the video and never sits inside its argument. Anything I dislike about a sponsored product, I can still say.
Free games
If a studio sends me a free copy, I say so wherever it shows up. A free copy buys nothing else. I mostly talk about games, so what I say about a game is never paid for.
